  Welcome To Avalon House

Mary Ita and Hugh Boyle Welcome you to Avalon House

Enjoy the rolling hills of Donegal, with the  beautifully positioned Avalon House.  Just a stone's throw from the heritage village of Glenties, affording you the peacefulness of the picturesque countryside, and yet the quiet bustle of village life, offering a choice of restaurants, and traditional Irish evenings in the local bars.

'Nationwide spent the afternoon with Mary Ita Boyle, who owns and runs the “Avalon” B&B, in Glenties right on the route of the Blue Stacks Way walking route. “Because of the beauty of the Blue Stacks, they could immediately see why visitors want to come here,” says Mrs Boyle.  The project helped me improve online business and I have my own website
for internet bookings.
“They also wanted to know why people choose a B&B over a hotel and I explained that they appreciate the one-to-one attention and personal interest they get here.  For example, I know the local walks and can direct visitors and they were impressed that I have a laundry room especially for hill-walking guests, and that I can offer organic or locally produced food on my breakfast menu.

An excellent base for touring the the south west corner of County Donegal is the Avalon Guest House, a smart, modern bungalow where Mary Ita and Hugh Boyle welcome guests for bed and breakfast  accommodation. Avalon has 4 comfortable guest rooms, (3doubles and 1 twin), three of which are en suite. Mary Ita prides herself in always preparing home baked food, and the added extras s such as home-baked bread, buns and cakes. There are menus for ceoliacs, gluten free diets and children, and packed lunches are also available on request.  Why not avail of this service, giving you flexibility and freedom to travel the valleys and hills of Donegal .
